The Carroll County Historical Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1964. It’s purpose is to discover, collect and preserve whatever relates to Carroll county history, be it natural, civil military, literary or ecclesiastical. Historical societies as collectors and custodians of records, books and artifacts play an important part in the preservation of our culture heritage. The society has endeavored to fulfill its purpose.
The society operates six historic buildings which house a diverse collection of artifacts not only representing our local but also our American heritage.
The society is involved in educational activities. These range from school tours of our museums for primary school visitors, living history programs at historical sites public programming, exhibits and publications.
